I’m sitting here watching the Bachelorette and eating cookies while it rains outside. What could be more perfect?!! Thinking back to this weekend..it was amazing! So much fun with so many people.
Josh told me he had a surprise dinner planned on Friday so as soon as I got home from work I started getting ready. We had a reservation at 6PM at Vida. The service was superb. Champagne was brought to our table after Josh jokingly told our waiter it was our first date. Then, the chef sent out a piece of steamed broccoli with parmesan and a sauce on it. It was definitely an interesting way start the meal. I ordered the tortelloni (soft pillows of pasta stuffed with mascarpone, potato, and truffle) and Josh got the scallops. We ordered a charcuterie plate and they brought out regular and blueberry friendship bread. Literally, every part of this meal was delicious.
I wanted to order dessert from the menu at Vida, but Josh insisted on going to SubZero for ice cream. Little did I know, he was just trying to stall because people were gathering at our house to surprise me for my birthday. I kind of had a feeling that something was going on, but it didn’t stop me from crying as soon as I saw all of these people at our house. It was a little overwhelming having so many people I love in one place! I started crying again when my friend Genny, who lives in Virginia, walked through the door!
It was a great party and I’m so thankful for everyone who helped plan, organize, execute, and showed up to have fun.
On Saturday we went to lunch with my dad at Fire by the Monon and then we went to the Florida Georgia Line concert that night. What. A. Concert. Chris Lane and Nelly opened for FGL, but we missed Chris Lane because we got stuck in traffic. Nelly was so good–I felt like I was in high school/middle school all over again. There were sooo many people at the concert, but we had a blast!
Sunday was a lazy day, trying to recuperate from all of the weekend festivities! We cleaned the house and yard, and I did a bunch of laundry. We finished the weekend off by having dinner at Bazbeaux.
P.S. Thank you for bearing with me as I continue to figure out how to use WordPress and all of the plugins associated with it. These photos are huge, and I can’t figure out a way to make them smaller without making them too small.
