Happy Monday, friends! This weekend we were running around like crazy people.
On Friday we got home from work, got ready, and headed to Zoobilation. Zoobilation is Indiana’s largest fundraiser and the Indianapolis Zoo’s largest single-day fundraiser, which raises funds to feed and care for the animals. Food and drink vendors from all over Indiana set up booths with signature items. It was my own personal foodie heaven. We ate everything from St. Elmo shrimp cocktail to Joella’s hot chicken and mac n’ cheese. For most of the night I stuck with wine, but I did try a cucumber/lemonade/gin drink and another drink with bourbon.
I wore this long pants romper that I got from Nordstrom Rack for $16!! I took no other pictures, but we spent the night eating, drinking, and socializing. Eventually I had to take my heels off because, although I was wearing my comfiest Tom’s wedges, walking around and standing for six straight hours was brutal on my feet. Finally, as we were walking out of the zoo, they were handing out bottles of water and slices of pizza. Those people know how to throw a party!
P.S. Shout out to random girls helping this girl get zipped in and out rompers in the bathroom all weekend! You all are lifesavers. (I wore another romper on Saturday, see below. I love them, but they complicate trips to the bathroom.)
We got up, finished packing, and left for Chicago around 9:30. It took no time to get up there, but there was a ton of traffic once we were in the city. After checking in to our hotel, we took an Uber to Wrigley to watch the Cubs/Rockies game.
We grabbed a snack on the way back to the hotel and then showered and got ready. Our hotel had a rooftop bar, so we checked it out before the Dave Matthew’s concert.
This picture is a bit blurry, but the concert was amazing! We had really good seats and the weather was perfect.
We met my brother Will for brunch at Bub City. I probably ate my caloric and carb intake for the entire week, but it was so worth it. Brisket burrito, mac n’ cheese, biscuits and gravy, BBQ bacon, cinnamon rolls, IT WAS SO GOOD. I got to see Will’s apartment and then we started the trek home.
A quick trip to Aldi and Mexican for dinner with Josh’s fam was a great end to a crazy busy weekend!
